Thank you, your sports challenges and this week’s endeavours

Thank you to all of you who completed the recent employee survey on Leadership, Management and Communication. It’s really useful to be able to build up a picture of how employees across services are feeling and highlight where we can make improvements in some areas of our work.

Independent research company IBP are still in the process of analysing the results for us but initial findings show that 2,248 took part and overall trends are similar to results gathered when the survey was last run in Autumn 2012.

Last weekend I was delighted to attend Run Garioch and had the honour of announcing the start of the half marathon. It was great to see so many people of a variety of ages taking part in the event and I look forward to the many other local sports competitions coming up over the summer. Are you taking a leap into it? Please post details of your sports challenges on the blog, perhaps with details of how people can support your fundraising efforts too.

This week I’ve already been involved in several strategic meetings with a focus on planning ahead in areas such as budget reductions and the integration of health and social care as well as local tourism. I’m tying up the week in Edinburgh with national meetings on community justice as well as a Cosla (Convention of Scottish Local Authorities) catch up on various topics.

What are your priorities for the week ahead? Are there activities you’d like to raise awareness of among colleagues?
