Sodexo awarded national health prize

Aberdeenshire Council caterers Sodexo have received a ‘healthyliving’ award for the council’s Woodhill House Restaurant and Costa coffee bar.

The national food-service sector award is given to caterers who are committed to preparing and serving food according to conditions outlined by the awarding body. These include ensuring that healthier ingredients and cooking methods are used to keep fat, salt and sugar to a minimum, and that options such as water, low fat dairy products and fruit and vegetables are always available.

The award criteria are based on the general principles of a healthy balanced diet and have been developed to be in keeping with Scottish dietary targets.
