Advertising of jobs to be put on hold from December 5 to January 6

The i-Grasp recruitment system is to be replaced by TalentLink for all Scottish councils at the beginning of 2015 to provide greater flexibility and functionality in the way we go about recruiting staff. This means advertising of all jobs will be temporarily put on hold between December 5 and January 6 to allow for the transition to the new system to take place. If you have a vacancy you require to recruit to before Christmas, please take action now to allow for publishing by the December 5 deadline. The new system will move all councils to a more online approach to recruitment administration and will help to ensure the process of recruiting new employees is as swift and well-supported as possible.

Friday, December 5 2014 is the deadline for publishing new jobs on i-Grasp. After this date, you will be able to request vacancies but these will not be published until the new system goes live on Tuesday, January 6 2015. If you have any urgent vacancies, please ensure these reach the Recruitment Team by December 5.

Recruitment Team Manager Michael Brewis explains: “TalentLink offers numerous benefits and efficiencies, including online candidate assessment forms that produce candidate scores; talent pools for candidates; automatic rejection for candidates who do not meet fundamental essential criteria and advanced management reporting.

“We’re keen that recruiting managers are provided support and training on use of the new system at the earliest opportunity so if you’re regularly involved in recruitment I urge you to sign up for one of the sessions detailed below.”

90-minute training sessions will be available for recruiters/administrators at 9.30am, 11.30am and 2pm on each of the dates detailed below. Please choose which time and location will suit you best and email angela.macdonald@aberdeenshire.gov.uk to book.

Further sessions will be available in January as well as an e-learning training package and easy guides. The Recruitment Team will also be available to support you when you first use the system.
