The flu is a viral illness that can be spread through coughs and sneezes, hitting certain groups very hard. Rather than generally clearing in a week or so, it can further develop into serious conditions, such as pneumonia.

NHS Scotland offers free flu jabs for the following groups:

  • Those aged over 65
  • Those with an underlying health condition
  • Those who are pregnant

Contact your local GP to book an appointment or discuss your eligibility.

In regards to flu jabs for healthcare workers, there is certain eligibility criteria. More information on this can be found at NHS Grampian Flu Vax. Please note: you need an authorisation letter completed by your line manager to qualify.
