Article Body:

From 29 January, the Council will stop using GCSx secure email, the system currently used to send to, and receive communications of a sensitive or confidential nature from, other Local Authorities, NHS, Police, DWP etc.

All of these organisations will shortly move across to new secure email solutions. Most, including Aberdeenshire Council, will use the new government-approved system once they have been accredited. From 29 January and until we receive accreditation, you must send information of a sensitive or confidential nature via secure encrypted emails following these simple instructions. If you need to send secure encrypted email frequently you can create and use secure email templates (templates are only available through Outlook installed on your laptop and not through the Office365 email app which some users will have access to).

When sending a secure encrypted email it is essential that you send this document to the recipient first.  This explains how to access your encrypted email either through a one-time passcode, or by setting up a free Microsoft account.

These documents and further information, are available on the Information Security Home Page on Arcadia, under Guidance
