Raising awareness of penalties drivers now face for using phones

​The council’s Health and Safety Sub-Group is keen to ensure all employees are aware of revised penalties which mean drivers will now be fined £200 and given six penalty points if caught using a hand-held mobile phone while driving.

Those who drive vehicles on the council’s behalf are reminded individuals rather than organisations receive any penalties and it is the responsibility of the vehicle driver to drive safely.
