Office365 to be rolled out during April

Article Body:

O365 will allow you to access your email and calendar, and work with team members on documents, using your PC or smartphone, wherever you are.

In preparation for the roll out, mailboxes will be moved to O365 during April. This will not change how you access your email.

We will let you know when your mailbox is moving. The day after the move you may be prompted to restart Outlook but you should not see any difference in the way your own email works.  If you use a shared mailbox you may not be able to access it for a short time, or you may notice some small changes in the functionality. This is temporary and will be resolved when all users are moved. We will do this as quickly as possible to minimise any inconvenience.

If you have a council-issued smartphone you will still be able to make and receive calls but you must update your device to access email. This can only be done once your mailbox has been moved, following the instructions that will be issued nearer the time.

O365 will be formally launched in May with a full range of events and opportunities to find out more. One exciting development will be the ability to use O365 on your own devices. Once you enrol your phone or tablet you will be able to access work emails, calendar and documents from your own device, wherever you have an internet connection. If you have a council owned smartphone you may feel that you no longer want to carry two separate devices.  By giving up your work smartphone you will be saving the council around £100 a year.  To find out more, contact the project team.
