Community Asset Transfer (CAT)

Article Body:

How much do you know about the Community Asset Transfer Process (CAT)? Have you been in one of our properties, like a town hall or a community centre, and heard people say “Our community group should be running this place” or “We need to be more involved in the running of this place”? That is, essentially, someone expressing an early interest in a Community Asset Transfer (even if they don’t know it).
Aberdeenshire Council has policies and procedures in place to establish where a Community Asset Transfer might be in the best interests of one of our buildings. Under CAT, we pass the running of some facilities to interested and suitable community groups. The detail of the procedures is all online. Importantly, members of the public can also view our register online, http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/CATassets.
Best advice, if you hear someone expressing an interest please advise them to call the Area Manager for the relevant part of Aberdeenshire. They will pick it up from there. Below are all their contact details.
