Aberdeenshire Council has a new Occupational Health Provider

Aberdeenshire Council have a new Occupational Health Provider, OH Assist, starting on August 3, 2015. Occupational Health works to keep employees fit and healthy at work, and supports the organisation to manage the risk in the workplace that are likely to give rise to work-related ill health.

Managers can refer employees to occupational health if they have a health problem – including mental-ill health – that is affecting their work or causing them to take time off sick. Occupational health referrals are intended to see what adjustments may need to be made to support someone to remain or return to work. Occupational health are also involved in undertaking health surveillance for employees who may be exposed to certain health risks, such as vibrating equipment, to ensure their work doesn’t adversely affect their health.

Aberdeenshire Council also offers free physiotherapy via Occupational Health. This is for employees who have a recent muscle or joint condition which is currently impacting on their work or has the potential to impact on their work in the future.  To access this free service, employees must be referred in by their manager.

To make a management referral to Occupational Health, please log-on to AskHR, or contact your assigned HR Officer for support.
