Policies in Practice – Workshops update

A number of Policies in Practice (PiP) workshops are now available across Aberdeenshire to help you apply the council’s HR policies more effectively. Workshops can also be tailored to support the specific needs of your service and teams depending on what your priorities are.

The standard attendance management workshop has now been revised to reflect the implementation of our new occupational health provider and gives detailed guidance on how to get the most from the referral process.

You can choose from 2.5-hour sessions in performance management and 2-hour sessions in employee annual review or social media guidance. There are also a number of 2-hour guidance sessions on topics including anti-bullying and harassment, whistleblowing and special leave.

Bookings for these face-to-face workshops can be made via the course pages on ALDO, the council’s online training solution. If you require a username and password for ALDO, email training.courses@aberdeenshire.gov.uk giving your employee number, full name and email address. Online learning modules are also in development to compliment the face-to-face sessions available.

Policies in Practice (PiP) provides guidance opportunities that will support line managers and supervisors across the council in developing HR policy awareness and how to apply this effectively. Policies in Practice can also tailor support to the specific needs of your service and teams depending on your priorities.

Standard, Bespoke or Tailored

The above are workshops that will give you the experiential aspect of learning. To complement the above, specific learning and intervention events can be created and delivered to meet the “Just in Time” or “Just Enough” requirements of your team. We’ll be happy to meet up and discuss your specific service needs.

If you want to know more about any of the above and how to book, please email pip@aberdeenshire.gov.uk orcontact HR Officer’s Keri Green on 01224 664137 or Marion Baikie on 01224 664124 or via email.
