Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford by-election date set

A by-election will take place in the Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford ward of Aberdeenshire Council on Thursday 5th November.

The by-election will seek councillors to fill two vacancies in the ward.

The by-election follows the death of Cllr Joanna Strathdee in August, and the resignation of Cllr Alastair Ross due to health reasons.

The count will take place the following day (Friday 6th November) at a venue to be confirmed.

Cllr Strathdee passed away in August following a long battle with cancer. She served as a councillor with Aberdeenshire Council since 1999. Cllr Alastair Ross has served on Aberdeenshire Council since 2007.

Details of the by-election will be issued to voters in the coming weeks.
