Employee health checks now available at locations tailored to your team

The council’s Wellbeing team offers ’employee health checks’ and to make this service more accessible to more employees they are appealing to managers, teams or groups of colleagues to get in touch if you’d like to have the health checks at your site.

The health checks are free to all employees. They are confidential 30-minute appointments with the Health Promotion Officer, including a check of height, weight, BMI and blood pressure as well as an informal chat and signposting around physical activity, diet, smoking, alcohol, mental health and other lifestyle topics.

To make appointments available on a day and at a location which suits your team, a minimum of six employees must be signed up in advance. Additional spaces may be made available to other council employees not necessarily within that team, service, or site.

All that’s required is a small private room with two chairs and a table (with room to manoeuvre) to conduct basic health check tests.
