Provost Jill Webster said: “I am delighted to officially open the new Family Resource Centre which is a major investment for the council and will provide families and young people in Inverurie with valuable support.

“The centre will be a real asset and the collaboration between council services as well as partner organisations is fantastic and will be of great value to the community.“It really highlights the way the council can work more closely with people and other organisations for the benefit of everyone.”

Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Education, Learning and Leisure Committee Councillor Isobel Davidson said: “The facility is an important part of the council’s vision that every child in Aberdeenshire is valued and helped to realise their potential.

“Children’s social work services will use the facilities to work in partnership with vulnerable children, their families, carers and other services to help ensure that children get the right help at the right time.

“In addition, the building of this facility in Inverurie has enabled the council to release space for much needed educational provision in Kintore.

“Children’s services to residents of Kintore will now be provided by this new and larger centre in Inverurie.”

Vice chair Councillor Ron McKail added: “The opportunities to provide high quality, modern social work services in Inverurie and the surrounding area will be greatly enhanced by this purpose-built accommodation.

“We have a skilled workforce already in place to maximise its use to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.”
